What we do…

Thanks for visiting SportsBridge Performance Training. Allow us to introduce you to a new and growing method for enhancing the overall athletic experience. Its called “Performance Training,” and its all we do at SportsBridge. Below is a brief overview of our methodology.

We train for athleticism

This means that our methods are designed to increase overall speed, strength, balance and flexibility. Our techniques teach athletes to “train the way they play.” This means that we focus on fast, explosive and powerful multi-joint movements. Our goal is higher levels of athletic performance, not simply better fitness.

Our training is age appropriate

This means two very important things. First, we take into account the chronological age of our athletes when designing our programs, and second, we consider what we call their “training age.” This term refers to the athlete’s relative level of skill in performing the various training movements.

Our training is developmental

Our approach to improving athletic performance is sequential. Athletes must master the basic movements and techniques before progressing. No exceptions. Our progression involves correct technique, speed of movement and strength of movement.

We train for injury prevention

Research suggests that competitive female athletes are several times mroe likely to sustain serious injury. Strength and flexibility training is the key to the reduction of injury risk.

Our training is most productive when seen as a long-term commitment

Our methods derive from the European Olympic community where the rule of thumb is that it takes 14 years to build an elite athlete. While your athlete may or may not be “elite,” our methods will definitely enhance their capacity. But it doesn’t happen overnight. Focus and determination over the long-haul is the best indicator of athletic success.
